The IT Help Desk specialist will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to employees within Ghostpunch Games. The role will encompass troubleshooting, maintaining, and implementing a variety of IT systems and services. Collaborative work with other departments and keen attention to current industry technologies, specifically in gaming, will be crucial.

Software Knowledge:

Operating Systems: Windows, Windows Server, Linux

Game Development Environments: Unity, Unreal Engine

Office Software: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace

Collaboration Tools: Slack, Discord

Ticketing Systems: JIRA Service Desk

Virtualization Technologies: Hyper-V, QEMU

Technical Skills:

Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and fix hardware and software issues.

Networking: Understanding of LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, and network protocols.

Security: Familiarity with antivirus software, malware removal, and security protocols.

Hardware Support: Ability to support and maintain PCs, laptops and other hardware peripherals.

Database Management: Basic understanding of SQL or other database management systems.

Scripting: Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.

Education and Training:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or other industry-standard certifications.

Ongoing Training: Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends, especially in gaming technology.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Gaming Industry Experience: Prior experience in the gaming industry is a significant plus.

Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various departments within the studio.

Project Management: Experience with managing multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.

Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Adaptability: Capacity to adapt to the ever-changing needs of a dynamic game development studio.

Problem-solving Abilities: A critical thinker with the ability to solve complex problems efficiently.
